“Iqra” is an Arabic term which means to read.  As such EYE will be running an Arabic reading club which will be taught in English for young children.  The aim is by the end of the course children can read, write and communicate in basic Arabic; in a friendly, fun and safe environment.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Iqra after school club will be based at Spring Hill Community Centre between Monday to Friday from 4.30 to 7.30pm. 

Essential information on Iqra After School Club

 

Classes:

*             Infants – 4 to 6 year olds from 4.30 to 5.30pm

*             Juniors – 7 to 9 year olds from 5.30 to 6.30pm

*             Seniors – over 10 year olds from 6.30 to 7.30pm

 

Each day 3 classes will be running from 4.30 for one hour.  There will be up to 10 children in each class.  To give maximum benefit, class sizes have been kept to a minimum and short teaching time to keep children concentration high after a long day at school

 

Subjects:

*             Arabic Language

*             Tajweed

*             Hadith

*             Fiqh

*             History

 

Each day’s lesson will start with reading the Quran, followed by one of the above subject.

 

Teacher:

*             Mufti Shamim Ahmed – A qualified teacher in Arabic and CRB cleared

*             Nasar Ali – Project Co-Ordinator.  Who worked for two years as a Link Tutor at Spring Hill School teaching English, Maths, Science and IT at the after school home work club.
