EYE Fantasy Football 2004 / 05

Welcome to EYE Fantasy Football and to the new Premiership season.  And what a season it is to be expected with the arrival of top three coaches.  We have Jose Mourinho the Champions Leaue winner with Porto, Rafael Benitez who led Vanencia to two titles  and Jacques Santini who quit as France coach during Euro 2004.  These coaches will try to lead Chelsea, Liverpool and Tottenham respectively to title glory.

The best English coaches Steve Bruce and Steve McClaren who have been spending heavily to become top six club and who are outside favourites.  Steve Bruce has strengthened his squad with Mario Melchiot, Jesper Gronkjaer, Muzzy Izzet, Emile Heskey and extending Mikael Forssell's loan.  And Steve McClaren has added Michael Reiziger and signed on-loan Gaizka Mendieta and Boudewijn Zenden.  But it is the signing of  Mark Viduka and Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink which gives the most potent striking partnership in the league.

All these Mangers will be trying to get one better over Arsene Wenger and Sir Alex Ferguson.  These two Manager have had unprecedented success in the Premiership.  For far to long, it has been a two horse race, but the new foreign managers and big spending in the transfer market by Steve Bruce and Steve McClaren will add a lot of competitiveness and make it challenging.

So who will light the Premiership with the skill, talent and flair?  Will anyone be able to match pace, agile and goal scoring exploits of Henry? The creativity, vision and inspiration of Pires and Ljungberg?  Or the rock solid Sol Campbell ?!?

The 3 R's ...

As if it was not hard enough for teams to stop Thierry Henry, he now has Jose Antonio REYES playing along side him!  The 20 year old was bought for £10 million from Serville in Spain. 

Cristiano RONALDO and Wayne ROONEY.  These are two players which Manchester United need this season to perform like they did in Euro 2004.  These two will add pace, youth and goals to a United side who will not want Arsenal to win back-to-back titles.

All three players on their day are great entertainers and match winning individuals.  Their young and will want to perform well.
